    When I try to upgrade from 2.27.2 to 2.29.2 of core GiveWP plugin I get the whitescreen with the message ‘your site is experiencing technical difficulties’ . When I re-instate the older version of the plugin (2.27.2) the problem is fixed? Therefore, there’s something about the latest version of the plugin that breaks my site?

    Glad you reached out. I can help you fix this error. If you have the Form Field Manager add-on installed on your site, here is what happened.

    We released a new version of GiveWP and Form Field Manager that fixes the issue you are facing (GiveWP 2.29.0 and Form Field Manager 2.1.0).

    First, if your site is broken, I would restore a backup of your site so you are up and running again.

    Then, I’d deactivate the Form Field Manager add-on, update GiveWP, update the Form Field Manager add-on, and then activate it again.

    To fix it, you need to update both GiveWP and the Form Field Manager add-on. In this case, you can click on Plugins > Installed Plugins and click to update your plugins. If you do not see an update for it, it’s just the cache. You can navigate to Dashboard > Updates and click on Check Again. It will check for the updates and clear the cache and you’ll be able to update the plugin.

    Before taking any steps for troubleshooting or updating, I highly recommend taking a good backup of the site you can confidently restore from. Having a backup of your site is essential to a solid workflow, and will allow you to restore to a previous version of the site if you run into any issues.     Hi Matheus, I followed your instructions-I (1)de-activated the form field manager plugin (2) Updated the core Give plugin and then (3) re-activated the form field manager plugin and updated it- I go the same error as before?

    I am running into this same issue. Tried the steps suggested and it does not work.

    Deactivate and Delete both the GiveWP and Form Field plugins. Then 1. deactivate any other Give plugins, 2. manually install GiveWP, 3. activate, 4. manually install Form Field and 5. activate Form Field. 6. Reactivate all other Give plugins. This worked for me.

    Hi I managed to fix the problem-here’s how I did it. There were 3 add-ons that also required updating

    • I deactivated Give fee recovery, Give Form Field Manager, and Give Recurring donations add-ons
    • I then updated these plugin add-ons
    • I then updated the core GiveWP with no error
    • I then re-activated the plugin add-ons with no error

    Hi @matheusfd , I have the same problem but I can’t update Form Field Manager because I didn’t renew the subscription. How can I update the main Give plugin, which is free, without error ?
