• I have had issues since last Thursday, it started with when I would upload a new image in my media browser the meter bar would go back and forth and then I would get an error.

Then when I would hist post or save I would get:

    The connection was reset

The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading.
The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few moments.
? If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer’s network connection.
? If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.

I called GoDaddy thinking this was a host issue, they expressed that it was probably because my site was under brute force attack. Or they didn’t say that, they said someone was trying to login repeatedly — and when I searched forums I determined this is what was happening.

    I took the following actions:
I installed Better WordPress Security to get the logs
I added .htpasswrd access to my .htaccess file
I changed permissions to wp-admin file

The problem still persisted. I thought I had made an error so I systematically reversed what I had done and then tried to troubleshoot the problem. Going down to the base theme, turning off my plugins – you name it, I’ve done. I’ve upgraded my hosting – I purchased another domain and installed WP within the same hosting package — and get the SAME error when I try to do anything in that dashboard.

GoDaddy has stated that it is now my IP issue, because they are able to see my site, when I can’t see my site.

I can’t login, I can’t make any changes. I’m at a loss. Should I just uninstall and try all over again? My website/blog has been in operation since 2009.

  • Have you spoken to your ISP about the IP issue? This isn’t really a WordPress issue.

Dont bother. I send them 1000 emails and no help. they just ignore that server is broken with new apache 2.4 upgrade. I have same error and i have try many things and i m very piss. I was messing with my browser, messing with my router, messing with wordpress plugins instaling unistalling and all stuff. But guess what, they have some IP filters that denies access to normal users… it is malfunction and they wont fix it. If you have static IP you can ask to whitelist you. Then it will work for you. But just imagen how many regular customers visitors got blacklisted by malfunction server?

And what if your IP changes every day like my?
… Godaddy did it. After so many years and reading all that negative posts and reviews about they servers and defending them with statement:”i dotn have problems with Godaddy”. Now i have, major problems!!! And guess what i m not alone.

Nope, you are not alone. We are having this very same issue on all 8 of our WP installs within our hosting account with Go Daddy.

I’ve been going round and round as well. I hope they find a solution quick before we are forced to find a new provider which could have the same issues.
