Site broke after editing "define lang" in wp-config.php

  • Hello,
    I changed the line “define(‘WPLANG’, ‘de_DE’);” to “define(‘WPLANG’, ”);” at my multisite instalation. I did it with a file editor plugin in the admin area. After that the site broke and I become the error: “HTTP-Fehler 500 (Internal Server Error):”
    I reversed the changes in the wp-config.php but the site is still broken.
    Do you have any idea how can I resolve this?

  • Double check your syntax for errors. Note the single quotation marks in the default format.

    define ('WPLANG', '');

    I did it and I compared the wp-config.php with an another one from a local installation and I didn’t find any error.

    Hello, I have the same problem, my site is down after editing the wp-config file and changing the language from en_US to es by mistake, and now I changed it back but still get 500 internal error, please help!
