• I have my network up and running and people are subscribing and adding new blogs to the network.

What do I need to do to setup backend administration for each new member blog that gets registered? Can the file directory (blogs.dir) for each blog be set up automatically or do I have to set each one up manually. How does it work?

I need to know because I want to be able to allow members to set permissions and upload branding images( e.g. favicon images, etc.) that need to sit in the root of a site. How can I manage this without manually configuring each site ID in the blogs.dir directory.

I get the following error message for a plugin that is activated on the network.

Warning: mkdir() [function.mkdir]: Permission denied in /home/pedageo/public_html/wp-content/plugins/add-logo-to-admin/add-logo.php on line 132

I cannot upload a logo image to a new site that I created to ensure all the plugins are working properly for my members. I am testing each active plugin to make ensure that each function properly when members create new sites on the network.

    Thanks,
    Oracles

You don’t need to do anything.

WP will magically set up access for them, and the blogs.dir subfolders, when they create accounts.

You may need to make blogs.dir with looser permissions, like 777, for the plugin to work.

Ok, I will do that. But what about my permissions issue above on the site I have already set up. Will changing the permissions to blog.dir work?

You’ll have to try it to be sure. Every plugin’s a little different.
