Site added not being blocked

  • Hello,
    I’ve added sites (1 per line) to custom urls and Im still getting spam from those domains. Please help. Thank You

  • I am also experiencing this issue. In fact, since installing this plug in I think I’m getting referrer spam from MORE sites than I was without it! Any help would be much appreciated, thanks

    Sorry to hear that, but that is impossible. I do not share or send websites URLs that use my plugin to anyone, so that must be just a coincidence.

    I’ve added sites (1 per line) to custom urls and Im still getting spam from those domains.

    As I said, some crawlers use tricks to hide their referrer URL, because they know about existence of plugins like mine. When they do so, the plugin is not able to identify them as spam. I had the similar issue on my blog and I didn’t find a solution to fix that, but since it wasn’t that much of a deal, I ignored it.

    Nevertheless, since it looks like a bigger issue for more users of my plugin, I will take a look if there is a way to block those bastards, and if there is, I’ll let you know.

    Thanks so much kwielo, unfortunately it’s just a rotten coincidence for me that the volume of spam referrals has increased. If there is anything you could think of that would help, it would be much appreciated.
