Site access going to post and not page

I created a ‘post’ and a ‘page’. When the site is accessed it goes to the post page. I’d like it to go to the page page (now, come on. I like the way that sounds). How do I ensure that site access always goes to the static page?

I am a strict newbie and have no experience with any web thingie.
