Single Thumbnail Gallery won't trigger Foobox in header.php

    Trying out foobox free here to see if it will serve my needs. I’m using do_shortcode with my gallery id (single thumbnail) for my large hero image in the header.php. I have foogallery setup to use foobox free. I’ve set up the gallery to show the images randomly. Unfortunately, the only thing that is happening is that it shows the first image, but hovering shows now caption and clicking does not launch foobox. Plus, it is not randomizing the initial image on refresh.

    So this made me think that this shortcode can’t be used outside the loop, since when I put it inside the loop in the the_content, it works fine. The distinction is not made in the docs as to where it can be used, so this was puzzling to me. Are there restrictions? If so, can you specify them, meaning does the do_shortcode call to the gallery need to be between any specific WordPress tags? Will it work from the header at all?

    This is on an internal server unfortunately.

    I have honestly not tried including the shortcode in the header. I will test including the shortcode in the header.

    For your single thumb gallery, do you have a featured image set? If so, then remove it and then it should randomize the images correctly
