I am using SSL for Woocommerce (I selected the check box to force SSL usage), however – on my single product page, I still get an error with the Stripe plugin. The js complains that it is being called via non SSL. It then breaks all of my other javascript such as light box view or navigation menu going static. However when I revert back to the old version of the plugin, everything works fine again.

I have no idea why this would work in 3.2.3 but not in the latest plugin. – So far I have not seen a workable solution to this. How do I force further SSL cooperation? There are no more buttons/configs for me to use. So the solution of “You need to use SSL” isn’t really applicable…

I think this is a bug?

No it is NOT a bug. Stripe 4.0 requires you have SSL anywhere Stripe is loaded. So you just need to make sure your single product page is served over SSL. If you don’t want to do that, then you can optionally turn off Payment Request Button in your Stripe settings which means you won’t have Apple Pay..etc.

I appreciate your rapid response – but how do I make sure my single product page is served over SSL?

Is there some option within WP or Woocommerce to do so?

Or do I need to download another plugin, or mess with the code in order to achieve this?

Hopefully I don’t need to jump through a lot of customizing hoops just to make a basic functionality such as Stripe to function…

I believe this is something you need to contact your host provider about.

    Alright I’ll do that.

But you might want to have a re-think about your current direction. Every “newbie” that installs your plugin (which is literally EVERYONE since this is the biggest payment plugin) will be complaining about this issue. The default installation instructions for Woocommerce just simply doesn’t force SSL integration until the checkout page. There doesn’t even seem to be an easy fix.

This is basically out of the box broken… which is a shame.

That being said I love love love your product – please keep up the good work!
