Single product page is very slow with more than 3 variations

I have the same problem but I came across this plugin https://ihayag.com/jaf/woocommerce-too-many-variations-plugin/and my single product page is more faster than ever.

Please advise how many variations you are aiming for.

I’m aiming to have size, style and color and wish to add one more in the future. The size has 6 attributes, style has 4 and the color is around 8-12 attributes. Only few products have these many.

The new version of the plugin added some cool stuffs such as product add-on and variation/attribute images.

That’s 6 x 4 x 12 = 288 variations, quite a large number, so I’d expect it to be slow. Its a lot of data to be transferred in the post array for each page load.

Did you try the too-many-variations plugin? What was your experience?

Large numbers of variations can also break your PHP Max Input Vars limit. See Admin page > WooCommerce > System Status. I suggest a setting of at least 5000 for 288 variations.

@toknatz you’re right the woocommerce too many variations plugin at https://ihayag.com/jaf/woocommerce-too-many-variations-plugin/ really suit my needs.

Now I can add as many variations as I want and I can still manage the stock level for some or all of the product variations.

I love the idea where you can assign different pictures or images and as I choose any attributes from variation drop-down the product image will display based on the setting the I made in the edit product page.

The plugin also equip with product add-on and I can choose from many options such as input box, drop-down box, checkbox and even a textarea for a custom text.

And the author is very responsive for my questions and guided me all through out.

@remzis, how is performance on your site with that plugin? When I tried the demo site it was VERY slow to load the pages. I waited > 5 seconds for some page loads. There also appeared to be some problems with products adding to the cart since I tried to add a second demo product and while I got a message that it was added, viewing the cart I didn’t see it.
