Hi, I noticed that when a plugin is disabled for a whole post type and you open a single page of that post type, it shows a check as if the plugin is active on this page, when it is actually disabled for the whole post type. I wondered if there is a way to see on the single page whether there is a parent post type that’s disabled and therefore it overrides the default page settings.

    Thank you

    Hi @meir321

the post types settings have the priority on all the rows of the single settings that have the switch turned off.

    See this picture: https://freesoul-deactivate-plugins.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/disable-plugins-by-page.png
In that example the page !:! VIP Day takes the plugin from the Singles settings because the switch is on.
For the page 3 month package and all the others with a disabled row, take the plugin from the Post Types settings

No matter how the checkboxes are, if the row is switched off, the plugins will be taken from the Post Types settings.

    See this picture: https://freesoul-deactivate-plugins.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/fdp-action-buttons.png
If you click on the question mark (third icon) you will see a popup that tells you which plugins are disabled, and from what settings.

Let me know if something is not clear or you need more clarification.

Hi, thanks for your response, however, I’m referring to a post itself. For example, if I have a post named Hello World and I open the post in the WordPress editor, the Freesoul Deactivate plugin section is on the bottom and by default all plugins are checked as if they are active.

Now let’s say I disabled a plugin for all posts of the Post type, then there will be no indication on the Hello World page that a certain plugin is disabled for the parent Post type.

I came across this issue while I was troubleshooting why a certain plugin was not working on a post so I decided to open the post and check the Freesoul settings on that page and I saw that it was active so I was wondering what the issue is. Then I realized that probably the plugin is disabled for the whole Post type – and that was actually the issue – but on that Hello World page, there is no indication of that.

    Thank you

    Hi @meir321 you are welcome.

In the single post, you should see this when the plugins are taken from the single post: https://freesoul-deactivate-plugins.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/fdp-single-post-settings-active.png

and this: https://freesoul-deactivate-plugins.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/fdp-single-post-settings-not-active.png, when they are taken from the Post Types settings.

If the switch is active you should see “These settings will override the Post Types settings.” with the link to the Post Types settings.
If the switch is not active you should see “The Post Types settings will override these settings.” with the link to the Post Types settings.

With the previous versions when the switch was off, the opacity of the plugins was very low. The opacity helped to understand a little more. I realize now that with the new versions the opacity doesn’t change anymore.

If you have suggestions to make it clearer they are very welcome.

    Hi @meir321

have a look at the new version 1.8.9.0.5. Now it should be clearer, but I will consider also other solutions to make it easier to understand for future versions of the plugin.
As said, if you have suggestions they are really welcome.

Hi, sorry for the late reply. I see you greyed it out when there is a post-type rule enabled. That’s definitely an improvement.

If you would be able to show on the page itself which plugin is disabled on this page due to a parent rule, I think it would be much better.

    Thank you

    Hi @meir321

thank you for your suggestion. This will be improved in a future version. Now I can’t say when, but it will be improved.

I will let you know when it’s done.

    Have a great day!
