• Was reading through the plugin details and saw the following shortcode:

    [mapsmarker marker=”1″]

However, the documentation on your website states:

Please be aware that marker map shortcodes like [mapsmarker marker=”1″] have been depreciated with v4.0 and the parameters below are for overriding regular map shortcodes only!

Is there anyway to duplicate this functionality? A way to display a map with only one marker without having to generate a full map entry?

I currently post images and add their GPS details to a marker and a master map. I was thinking of also adding a map to for the individual marker to just the post. Using [mapsmarker marker=”xxx”] would make that super easy. Without it the only way I can see to accomplish this would be to create the new marker, add it to the existing master map, and add it to a new map dedicated to just this one marker. Then repeat this for every new post.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hi,

marker map shortcodes have been depreciated with Maps Marker Pro v4 but still continue to work for backward compatibility reasons. This means although it is not advised, you could still use [mapsmarker marker=”1″] in the pro version – anyway just be aware, that the default values for new markers would be used here.
Another way to workaround this could be to create a map template (e.g. map ID1) and assign markers to this map (e.g. marker ID 2,3,4) – the shortcode here in the pro version would be [mapsmarker custom=”1″ markers=”2,3,4″] – hope this helps.
    best,
    Robert
