• Hello again, hope your good!

Surely this issue i’m having is not right?

I posted a question a week ago about enhanced ui joining my terms upon submission. So I revisited problem and did some more testing and it seems its not enhance UI.

This is my new test See screenshot.

Basic form with just a post_title field and single_line_text field with the option save to taxonomy checked. No enhanced UI this time.

    So my skill terms I entered are… ABTAG1, ABTAG2, ABTAG3

I submitted the form, the post is successfully published and boom… this is what is added to the taxonomies… See screenshot.

But if you go and edit the post, wordpress recognises the terms based on the term name, not the slug, so wordpress automatically splits it up, see screenshot.

But only when the post is updated is this corrected, and when the post is updated it leaves the joined term in the admin taxonomy list, see screenshot.

    Surely this a bug right?

I’m running all the latest plugins and wordpress, and i’ve done this text in the admin so I can’t imagine its related to my theme as I’m not modifying the admin.

Can anyone else please run the same test and let me know the results? Be sure to check the taxonomy admin list after submitting the form, don’t update the post.

    Many Thanks
    Josh

  • Same problem here, but when the post is updated the problem is gone. Although the long taxonomy term made up of all terms is still laying around, so it has to be manually deleted.

I noticed this odd behavior too, and came here looking for help. I’m running the latest version 3.1.6. I did not notice this erronous behavior before. Going to downgrade and see if works properly.

Downgraded to version 3.1.5 (found it in a backup), problem persisted. Downgraded to 3.1.4 and it works as should.

Thank you so much guys for response, i’ve totally dropped this tag gf input functionally from site and has moved my project backwards weeks trying to find another solution that worked.

The developers have totally ignored my questions and this is massive plugin bug and it does not do what the plugin says in the features.

The developers SHOULD REMOVE this from their plugin features…

    • Single Line Text field support for taxonomies (enter as a comma-delimited list: term a, term b, term c)</li>
    • Enhanced UI support for Single Line Text fields (see screenshots)

or, fix the bug to work with the latest wordpress.

Thanks for you suggestions Mikko but I cannot downgrade.
