    Hi,

    Since we updated to Version 5.4.0.2 our single event pages won’t load. Clicking on an event on our events page: https://www.igs.org/event just loads the list view again.

    It does work when I go to setting and uncheck “Enable updated designs for all calendar views” under Event Setting>Display>Basic Template settings, but I don’t want to use the old designs.

    Is there a way to fix this? Or revert back to the previous version where it was working?

    Hi @igscb

    I see that you have a caching plugin active. As a first step please clear the cache and deactivate the caching plugin.
    Then go to Settings > Permalink and click on save to flush the permalinks, just in csase. Then give it a check.

    If this doesn’t help I would recommend going through a conflict test.

    I have the same problem. Couldn’t open the single event page. I don’t use any cache plugin. Any other reason for this problem? I use the WordPress 5.7.

    I have the same problem.
    I’m using WordPress v5.6.2, event calendar v5.4.0.2 on php8 with enfold theme v4.8, wordpress language = german.
    The event page (/veranstaltungen) is working fine, but the single event page (/veranstaltung) is just a black screen. I don’t know why ..

    Okay .. I found the problem in my case.

    My event cost was “0,00” .. If it’s a free event, i need to change it to “0”.
    If i like to take 2€ for this event, it’s works with “2,00”.

    @igscb I went to check your site and it seems to be working now. Can you please confirm? Did maybe the latest update to 5.4.0.2 fix this for you?

    I have updated the latest version of The Events Calendar. And I unchecked ‘Enable updated designs for all calendar views’, then it works fine.

    I use PHP 7.4.

    We have received reports that this happens in some cases with PHP 8. We are investigating that part.

    Not sure though why it happens with PHP 7.4.

    Not sure if you did the conflict testing.
    Does this also happen when you use a default theme?

    I am having the same issue, but I’ve narrowed my issue down to my theme’s core plugin. If I disable this plugin, the single event page loads. However, I can’t get ANY error messages no matter what I do. No errors in troubleshooting mode, WP debug mode, or the DevTools console.

    This error only occurs when I have “Use updated calendar designs” enabled. The legacy single events page works just fine.

    How should I proceed?

    Hi @njsortor

    Which theme are you using and what is the theme’s core plugin called?

    Not sure how much we’ll be able to help with it. It would also be worth reaching out to the theme developers.

    One thing you can still try is to install and activate the Query Monitor plugin and see if that shows you any errors when you visit the page.

    Unfortunately I am still having this issue and the same issue as njsortor. I have been using legacy designs to allow it to work so far but since it will be retiring in a couple of months I thought I’d touch base again.

    When I try troubleshooting activating both the theme core plugin and WPBakery page builder it causes single events to not be displayed when “Use updated calendar designs” is enabled. So does this mean I should contact my theme’s developers?

    It looks like you still have 3 things active plus TEC.

    • your theme
    • your theme core plugin
    • WP Bakery

    I’d suggest first to find out which exactly is causing the issue.

    First, try with only your theme active.
    If that already doesn’t work, the issue is with the theme.

    If it works, then switch on the theme core plugin and see if that is the one breaking it.

    If it still works, then
    a) activate WP Bakery
    b) activate WP Bakery and deactivate the theme core plugin
    as it might be a combo of the two.

    Hi @aguseo,

    I’m currently using a theme called Campoal (not exactly a common theme) and the theme’s core plugin is called Campoal Tapo. I have been working extensively with the theme developer to attempt to mitigate this issue, but neither of us have been successful.

    No errors showed up in the Query Monitor. The only error I’ve received was within the calendar itself which reads “There were no results found for this view. Jump to the next upcoming events.” That message appears when I click on a single-event page.

    I really want to purchase a license for TEC Pro but I have to make sure the plugin will actually work first.

    It looks like it is a combination of both the theme core plugin and WPBakery. When only one is switched on, the updated calendar design works.

    This did work in the past but for some reason it hasn’t lately.
