Can you send me a link so I can see the breadcrumbs.

Are they generated by a plugin or is this a theme thing? Many breadcrumb generators have a problem with custom post types (which is what an event is) and you may have to add the taxonomy information to the plugin/theme.

which following the breadcrumb links through to :

https://www.wyscouts.org.uk/event/

however i want to link it through to

https://www.wyscouts.org.uk/events/

The Events page isn’t the parent page for individual events which is why it doesn’t work.

If you want the breadcrumbs to link to the the Events page you need some sort of custom setting in the breadcrumbs plugin/theme. There is nothing I can do to the plugin to fix this.
