    Hi there

    Great plugin! Couple of issues I’d be greateful for your help with:

    1. My main sitemap currently has only one entry – would you have any idea why? I can’t see an errors in the page source.

    2. Since last week both Google Search Console and Meritools have reported that they can’t find the sitemap. The site’s performance seems fine, so not sure why this would be.

    3. Meritools reports the following error with one element: 11:0: ERROR: Element ‘{https://www.google.com/schemas/sitemap-news/0.9}news’: This element is not expected.

    Appreciate any thoughts

  • Hi the sitemap-home.xml will normally only have a single entry (the home page) unless you are using a multilingual plugin where there will be multiple home pages (one for each language).

    Your sitemaps (both the index and sitemaps) give a 404 response header. This is why Google reports an error. I also notice that the main site feed has a 404 response header. Have you got a plugin that disables feeds? Or maybe it’s related to the Litespeed cache?

    Hi RavanH

    Thanks for getting back so quickly. As far as I know I have no plugins disabling RSS feeds so I think you’re right, it’s probably related to Litespeed.

    Thanks so much, will raise it there.

    Hi Ravan

    I’ve confirmed with Litespeed that it’s not that plugin (error persists with the plugin deactivated).

    Do I need a rule like

    rewrite ^/(.*/)?sitemap.xml /wp-content/uploads/sitemap.xml last;

    in .htaaccess?

    Scratch that, turned out it was the Disable Author Archive plugin.

    Glad you solved it. Thanks for let me know about the incompatibility ??
