    Hi Tobias,

Please help me. The vertical scroll bar in the footer with sponsors doesn’t show up.
    This my website : https://www.niekkleinjan.nl/wp
I put this shortcode in the footer: [table id=1 datatables_scrolly=”80px” /]

    Can you please help me?

    Kind regards, Niek

    Hi,

thanks for your post, and sorry for the trouble.

That scrolling feature will only work in tables that have a header row and that have the “Use DataTables” checkbox enabled.

From what I can see, you are only using a 1×1 sized table, so I’m not really sure why you are using a table at all here?!

    Tobias

    Hi Tobias,

Thank you so much for your help!!!!!

I have the checkbox enabled incl. header row of course. I used a singel column because on my smartphone I see all the logos next to each other which makes the site a lot broader. So first I tried to put everything in 1 box and tried to create a vertical scrollbar, but that doesn’t work out, so now I also put them next to each other. So now I need a vertical scrollbar and a horizontal scrollbar actually. Just to make the table smaller and that it fits in the footer instead of making it bigger (and broader on smartphone).

    Do you have any ideas??

    Regards,
    Niek

    Hi Niek,

to be honest, I don’t think that a table is a good solution here. What you are displaying is not tabular data, it’s “just” for layout purposes.
In this case, a table makes things just more difficult.

It should be enough here to put the images into the footer as HTML code, maybe with some manual line breaks (HTML <br /> tags), or maybe some wrapper HTML code.

    Tobias

    Hi Tobias,

    You’re right!
Yes, I also thought of that, but then the footer will be this broad and big instead of small with a scrollbar in it. Especially on mobile devices it’s not really beautiful this way. I hoped I could put the logos in different columns including a scrollbar so I can make the table small, but for people who are interested, can scroll down. But if you think a table here is not a good idea, then I’ll have to put the logos somewhere else on the site.

    Hi,

that makes sense, and this should be possible with other HTML structures and CSS.
Just a table is not a good choice here, as you will again run into issues with responsiveness.

    Regards,
    Tobias
