Single Category Page, Placeholder Listing, Ordering: Future Past Events

I’m trying to work out EM configuration vs. shortcodes vs. placeholders on the Single Category Page.
Currently, the following code in the “Single category page format” lists Future Events in an Ascending order (“now” to future), then Past Events also in Ascending order (oldest to newest).
#_CATEGORYNOTES <h3>Upcoming Events</h3> #_CATEGORYNEXTEVENTS <h3>Past Events</h3> #_CATEGORYPASTEVENTSThe question: How would I change Past Events to display in Descending order (most recent past event to oldest event)?
