Since update 1.8.8 and WordPress 4.4.2 formatting issues

Hi there, I’ve inherited a site with this plugin. During latest WP update formatting has been lost with the free version of this plugin. Please confirm 1.8.8 is good with latest WP?
I don’t want to spend much time troubleshooting this. The plugin is only used to lay out bands in a column format so I can easily create the same effect with column shortcode.
