• Since the last update some of the Font Awesome icons aren’t showing on my site!

There are more missing in mobile view (on phone) than desktop!
Initially I noticed that the icon for the RSS-Feed wasn’t showing on my desktop computer; it’s missing on the mobile version too.
Only this morning I opened our site on my mobile and noticed other icons missing too! For example [only on mobile!] the link icon, the square with the upward arrow \f08e, is missing on all links, on homepage and individual blog posts.

I’ve cleared my cache several times – no fix.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hi there,
I can see the RSS icon issue on your website, though I cannot reproduce it locally.
It also shows fine on the demo website:
    https://demo-hueman.presscustomizr.com/

Could you please remove the RSS social icon and add it again from
Appearance -> Customize -> Web Page Design -> Social links
    ?

The link icon you’re talking about is a custom icon you defined in your child-theme style.css right? You might want to update your style to make it work with Font Awesome 5
    https://fontawesome.com/

    Hope this helps.

Okay, thanks @d4z_c0nf – at least I have solved the RSS feed icon.

The other part is still baffling me! I don’t know which version of Font Awesome my site is using. The external link is still not working. I replaced the css code with new code – and then the same disappeared on my desktop site too; it’s still not available on mobile. So now I reversed to the old code.

    Hi there,
not sure what you mean with
I don’t know which version of Font Awesome my site is using.

Your site is running the fontawesome version the theme includes, which, according to:
    https://presscustomizr.com/release-note-for-hueman-pro-v1-0-28-and-hueman-free-v3-3-26/
    is version 5.

Look that yesterday I couldn’t see your custom link icon on desktop top, which makes sense, since your custom code uses the old fontawesome notation. Here’s the fa5 documentation about new one:
    https://fontawesome.com/how-to-use/web-fonts-with-css
    see the section
    CSS Pseudo-elements

Icons that show in desktop will show in mobile too.
Please make sure to clean your WP Rocket cache and your browsers caches.

    Best

    hello guys
My icons are not displaying properly they are displaying like a square when viewed frm my browser https://www.digitalrevolutionized.com

    Please anyone help

I was struggling with the same problem, I couldn’t get the basic icon ‘redo’ visible, while other icons worked flawless.

It turned out that some icons have been renamed. E.g. ‘redo’ was changed to ‘repeat’, and that works.

    So please check https://fontawesome.com/how-to-use/on-the-web/setup/upgrading-from-version-4

The strange thing is that the icons only don’t show on mobile (this is an ongoing issue, but currently I have not much opportunity to be online and deal with website issues) – all fontawesome icons display okay on desktop (over 8 months down the track = nothing has changed).

So I doubt that this is a naming issue. I seem to recall that I tried to deal with that in the past too (too long ago)…
