Since 5.6.3 problem with sending forms

  • I use several CF7 forms on my site and notice that since updating to 5.6.3 the form hangs upon clicking the submit button. The form is actually submitted (emails are sent to us and the user) but there is no confirmation message after submit and the submitting wheel hangs in constant send mode.
    I rolled back to 5.6.2 and the problem has disappeared. I also notice that other people are reporting similar issues.

    Hi Takayuki

    As it is an active working site, I have rolled back to 5.6.2 so even if you see the site, everything works fine at the moment. I would have to update to 5.6.3 to trigger the problem. But you would find an example here:

    If possible, I could give you temporary admin access and also ftp access. Let me know how I could get them to you safely.

    Hello! I am having the same problem since I updated to version 5.6.3: once someone registers in one of the forms, it is sent correctly, but a confirmation message does not arrive in the mail.

    How can I solve it?
    If the solution is to go back to version 5.6.2, how can I do it?

    Hi Juanocampo,

    I do backups of my sites and so was able to take 5.6.2 from a backup and then ftp it.

    I could email you a zip file of 5.6.2 if you give me an address. But Takayuki seems to be on the case and so maybe wait and see what he has to say first.

    @jdphoenix we are still waiting and this thread is state of play. I have rolled back to the previous version and the problem went away. I have added a link to a zip of the previous version 5.6.2 (see above) and am not experiencing problems. Just make sure automatic updates are switched off.

    Other people have reported other problems recently, but the common denominator seems to be the recent 5.6.3 update.

    I have removed the entire plugin folder, uploaded your downloaded version, cleared cache and it still does not appear to be working. Did you adjust anything else as well? Thanks

    @jdphoenix No, nothing. I just checked it again and 5.6.2 definitely works fine.

    I have also seen that other people have been able to use it without any problems.

    Okay, appreciate the suggestion though.

    I used the WP-ROLLBACK plugin to restore 5.6.2 and when I cleared the cache the form now works. Under 5.6.3 when “Submit” is pressed, a grey circle with a blinking white dot appears and nothing more happens.

    @oanda-webmistress Interesting that nothing happens in your case. With 5.6.3 in my case both an email was sent to me and a confirmation email was sent to the person submitting the form even though the (in my case) spinning circle never went away and the successful submission message never appeared.
