Sinatra – Blogs/ Categories

Hey @bmeghan047,

If you are referring to the Hero Section (the hover slider), you can change that in Appearance ? Customize ? Hero.

I’m having a problem with categories. When you are editing a post there is a CATEGORIES section on the right side. You should be able to check the boxes for all the Categories the post belongs in. There are no categories listed when using Sinatra, so you can’t assign the post.

I have a temporary way around this, which is to go back after posting and use the QUICK EDIT option to assign the post to Categories, but this should not be necessary.

Every post gets assigned to a Category. The Category is then used in the Menu to allow filtering posts based on these topic categories, so this is critical to the site.

I just tried this on my end and it worked as expected.
Here’s a screenshot.

Are you not seeing the “Categories” section at all or are you just not able to click on the checkboxes?

If you are not seeing the “Categories” section, check if it’s enabled in “Options”.

Click the three dots icon in the top right corner, then “Options” and then check if “Categories” under “Document Panel” is checked.

Did some further testing and discovered categories are not listed when using other themes, so this is likely not a Sinatra issue, but instead some incompatibility triggered by a WordPress update or a plug-in. Thanks.
