Simply Static plugin conflict

So this a another similar issue to my previous ticket.

Hi @mohammedeisa, I tried downgrade to php-7.4.9-Win32-vc15-x64 and I can now create the backup. Tested with php-8.1.21-Win32-vs16-x64 it worked as well. Then I tried the latest php-8.2.8-Win32-vs16-x64 and problem appeared again. There should be some incompatibility with php 8.2+

I’m glad that you are able to make it work.

Duplicator is compatible with PHP 8.2, there would be a missing extension on your server PHP 8.2 which causes the issue.

Hi @mohammedeisa, I think I have found the bug. It wasn’t missing extension. After the package scan completed the ajax returned json with the PHP warning message appended at the end of response. This malformed json caused the json parser to fail, error was thrown in browser console.log and the scan stucked with error.

This is the ending of the admin-ajax.php call response for duplicator_package_scan action. Notice a few plain text[PHP ERR] lines after end of json }. This is what caused the parsing to fail.

These warning lines does not show up in 8.1 so the json can be parsed. I do not have pro plan subscribed so I’m most likely couldn’t send support ticket. Would be helpful if you can submit this bug report to your team for investigation. I will use older PHP version atm and wait for bugfix. Thanks

@vinkmalaysia I installed the latest versions of Duplicator Lite and Simply Static on a local installation and I’m able to create a backup with those two plugins active.

This is my dev machine env. Intsead of Laragon I even confirmed this with fresh installed latest XAMPP

XAMPP 3.3.0 (Default PHP 8.2.4)
Laragon 6.0 (Downloaded PHP 8.2.8)

MariaDB 10.11
Windows 10 22H2 19045.3208 (Updated to latest)
Google Chrome latest

copied default production config to php.ini with only enabled extensions: curl, gd, mbstring, mysqli, zip

Fresh download of latest WordPress 6.2.2

Clean install with only Duplicator Lite and Simply Static
