Simplify Scheduling

My colleagues and I at GetReligion.org have tripped over post scheduling several times. I think this is for two reasons:

— The use of 24:00 hours makes for clunkier scheduling. Would you consider a pulldown menu that allows for specifying a.m. or p.m.?

— Breaking the scheduling into steps (approving the scheduled time and then clicking on Schedule) can trip us up. I know that sometimes I’ve approved the time and then forgotten to click on Schedule. Is there any way to combine the two actions?
