I’ve looked and looked trying to integrate WP and SimpleViewer using the Kimili Flash Embed Pugin. There’s a few posts, but nothing that really lays out how it’s done, especially with the recent update of the Kimili plugin.

So let’s solve this! I’m willing to post instructions to the Codex if someone can help me figure this out. Right now, using the available info I pieced together, I can get the Simpleviewer to load in a post, but no images. (The gallery works because it will load outside a wordpress post.) I am using Kimili Flash Embed 1.0 and WordPress 2.0

I know I’m not the only one who wants this…

According to Kimili’s page, you can specify both pixels and percentage for width and height.

As for your problem, it really seems odd. Mind if you post both the URLs of your blog post for us to take a look?

For some reason, it didn’t work for me in pages, now suddenly it started working. maybe the long URL path lengths. I shortened it after going through amos posts.

1. Can somebody let me know how to have different galleries? create different subfolders?

@drb05,
That’s what I do. Have different folders for different galleries. Note that SimpleViewer has a limitation of around 100 images.

@seville,
I’m seeing 8 B&W images for
https://www.derfrison.com/?p=6

and 4 colored photographs for
https://www.derfrison.com/?p=10

Looks like you solved your problem?

hey wwhat did you do get all the thumbs in one row and the arrow to appear for scrolling thumbs. I am not seeing any arrows for my thumbnail navigation.

any suggestions? please?

Oops! I got it.changed the text color to black

@amos

it shows the different galleries if you open them specifically, but not when you have them on the main page https://www.afrison.com so my problem is unfortunately not solved ??

Any suggestions?

Thanks

@seville,
That’s odd. I’m seeing them individually and it looks fine.
?p=6 has 8 black & white pictures &
?p=10 has 5 colored pictures.

Even the main page displays it correctly. Maybe you want to try clearing your cache.

(@seville)

@amos, are you using firefox? It’s working in Firefox but it’s not working in IE 6 and 7. I deleted the cache before and it’s showing wrong ??

Is this a problem now of Simpleviewer or the Kimili Flash Plugin with IE?

How can I make it work in IE or should I just create different pages for each gallery instead of posts? Is it possible that the user can make comments on each gallery if I put them on a page instead of a post?

Thanks for any advise

@seville,
OMG! IE view is indeed wrong. Yes, I’m using FireFox.
Let me try to simulate the problem on my end. I’ll let you know if I found a solution.

My suggestion: In the meantime, different galleries on different pages should be no issue. Tie all these galleries into a single page/post for easy navigation like:

@amos

hahaha, I expected this reaction, since most of my friends using IE it should also work in IE ??

Thanks for your suggestion, that’s a good alternative.

P.S. nice pictures

@seville,
I manage to simulate the problem but unfortunately I do not have a solution for you. If you ever found the solution, do post here.

hey, I know this is a bit back in the thread, but I tried to follow all advices here to get a flashgallery into my new wordpress blog. But it seems like I’m doing something wrong in the imageData file or something, because when I upload the new imagedatafile nothing wants to show up. Well here is a link for you:

https://comedian.netsound.nu/SimpleViewer/Vinter/

And this is the code I’m using in the imageData file:

<?xml version=”1.0″ encoding=”UTF-8″?>
<SIMPLEVIEWER_DATA maxImageDimension=”358″ textColor=”0x000000″ frameColor=”0x000000″ bgColor=”0xFFFFFF” frameWidth=”2″ stagePadding=”20″ thumbnailColumns=”2″ thumbnailRows=”5″ navPosition=”right” navDirection=”LTR” title=”Vinter” imagePath=”https://www.comedian.netsound.nu/SimpleViewer/Vinter/images/” thumbPath=”https://www.comedian.netsound.nu/SimpleViewer/Vinter/thumbs/”>

For the purposes of troubleshooting I would get the simpleviewer working on it’s own without modifications. Go to the simpleviewer site and use one of the automated gallery builders, for example. Get it working that way.

The changes you need to make in the xml file are small, just the addresses of the image and thumb folders if I remember right. Make those changes to the xml file after the gallery is working, then see what happens.
