When I installed SimpleTOC – Table of Contents Block Version 5.0.25 the SimpleTOC did not display on our website posts. I have cleared our Ezoic cache. In the following example we have 6 H2 tags https://www.infinitiworkforce.com/2021/08/19/1-trillion-infrastructure-act/. We have over 300 posts that I was hoping this would work automatically with. I do not want a TOC on any pages. Posts only. This WP website theme uses WPBakery (not a fan). Please let me know what else we need to do to get this to work on all our posts automatically. I am willing to do anything lol. Thank you so much.

Did you add the SimpleTOC block to each post?

No, I did not. I was hoping that this was an automated process. I just went to edit that post and see if I could figure that out and this company uses the old classic editor on posts, and I did not see that option. Is there a short code I can use?

No. The old editor is dead. SimpleTOC only supports the current Gutenberg editor. That is made clear in the Readme. Sorry

If I disable the classic editor plugin. Do you think that will that break anything? Then will we be able to use your TOC plugin?

You definitely should migrate to Gutenberg. Even if this will break things. It will be the better solution in the long run.

I have been building our newer websites with only Gutenberg and I totally understand esp with Google pagespeed insights and core web vitals at play. This website is getting a rebuild too but its over 900 pages and that takes time ?? I know I am stuck with WPBakery page builder but only posts have been built using the classic editor so I might get lucky with disabling the classic editor plugin, right? If yes, then I’ll try this after a backup and then will I need to apply SimpleTOC to each post manually?

Yes. Because you need to decide where to put the block.
