• Hi, i have finally decided to upgrade my blog from the “simple php blog” to wordpress, (strange it has taken so long for me to do this)

i want to import all the categories comments ect into my new wordpress blog, this would be easy if simplephpblog was db driven, however it uses plain text files to store all content.

any ideas where to start? i would rather not do it manually , any thoughts will be appreciated

    thanks

  • you can import into a db .. but the file(s) need to be formatted properly…

    your choices:

    1. CSV
    2. CSV for MS Excel
    3. Microsoft Excel 2000
    4. Microsoft Word 2000
    5. LaTeX
    6. Open Document Spreadsheet
    7. Open Document Text
    8. PDF
    9. SQL
    10. XML

i would suggest going back to Simple PHP Blog’s support forums and asking about converting to one of those formats.. or maybe their flat files are already in one of those..

    im interesting it too…

in the case of converting into one of these file formats… who will be converting BBCode and comments…?
