Simple way to plug rss feed into html?

Greetings,
Sorry for the newbie question but I’ve searched all over this site and Google and have not found what I’m looking for.
I’m searching for a way to feed my rss into an HTML file. So far I haven’t had any luck.
I’ve found a couple of cool sites that will generate javascript after filling in the url of my blog, but they are referring to a script on someone elses server which is undesirable.
I have absolutely no knowledge of XML or PHP or ASP which it appears a lot of these web script seem to use. But I manage to tweak around and get php to work.
I’m at a loss here at what seems like it would be easy: find some code to paste into a table cell that will snag my rss feed to display in a standard html file.
I got these javascript ones to work but since they don’t give me access to the js file on their servers I have not much control. Also will javascript not work on browsers that have it disabled?
_Please tell me there’s a pretty easy way to do this that even I can get to work.
