Just a follow-up to my initial review of one month ago:
I’m new to WP, and as I learn more I run into more problems (typical learning curve). After using Rolf’s plugin “Optimize Database after Deleting Revisions” for several months I finally figured out how to make it do more than just delete my MOUNTAINS of page and post revisions.
I’m developing on a localhost Xampp server, and recently tried to optimize all InnoDB tables at once. I was not able to, and kept receiving a “FATAL ERROR.” Had no idea what to do, so I posted my predicament on Rolf’s Support board for this plugin and received a spot-on solution within 12 HOURS(!) Not 12 days, or “never” as is so common. Just 12 hours, and the issue was not even caused by the plugin. It turns out I needed to enlarge the “Maximum execution time” in Xampp’s php.ini file.
I call that excellent, service-oriented support and real dedication on the part of Rolf, the plugin author. When my online efforts begin to pay off I will definitely contribute financially to this fine plugin. I can’t imagine building and maintaining a WordPress site without “Optimize Database after Deleting Revisions.”
