Hello, I am very grateful for this theme. But now I have one issue, it is regarding the new Simple Payment Jetpack feature. I set it up and all that, but the PayPal Pay button does not show up.

    How can I fix this?

    Best regards

  • Hi Orlando,

Can you double check the email address that’s linked to your Simple Payments button? You can do that by navigating to the editor for your Contact page, selecting the button, and then choosing the pencil icon to edit its settings:

The email needs to be linked to a PayPal account that’s connected to a bank account in order for the button to display correctly.

If you can verify that the email is correct and your PayPal account matches up to the requirements, we can troubleshoot further from there.

    Thanks!

The email is correct and it is linked to a PayPal account that is linked to a bank account. While editing the button in the editor, I can see the button. But once I save and navigate to the site both with Safari, Chrome, the button is nowhere to be seen. What can this be?

    Best regards

Thanks for confirming Orlando! I do see that your settings look correct, so have asked the team behind the Simple Payments button to take a deeper look into what’s happening here. I’ll let you know as soon as I hear back.

Thanks for your patience as we looked into this Orlando. The team have got back to me and asked if you could go through the following troubleshooting steps:

    • Try disabling your plugins (not including Jetpack) one by one. It’s possible that some third-party code could be conflicting with the PayPal button. Each time you deactivate a plugin, refresh the Contact page to see if the button works.
    • Follow these steps to activate SSL on your site:

Your domain is currently not secure and there’s a chance that that may be preventing the PayPal button from loading correctly.

After you’ve followed the above guidance from One.com to activate SSL, wait a few hours for your domain to update and then check to see if the PayPal button works.

Let me know how you get on with the above troubleshooting steps.

Thank you so much for good help, I found a plugin that must have been the cause, but also thanks for showing me how to get my site to be more safe.

    Best regards

Perfect, I’m seeing the PayPal button on your site now. ?? What was the plugin causing the problem, out of curiosity?
