simple-page-sidebars & child theme

  • I think I’ll be using a child theme for the changes I make to my site.

    Does this effect the way I will install simple-page-sidebars plugin? It is now installed and working on my 2010 theme, but the more I mess with the site files and the more I read here, I’m thinking I should start over from scratch and use a child theme for all of my modifications.

  • If you copy the default Twenty Ten sidebar.php into your child theme and make the change for Simple Page Sidebars in the new file, everything should work fine.

    I am planning an update that will make the sidebar.php modifications unnecessary in the future, but it’ll probably be a few weeks before I’m able to get to that.
