    Take a look at the bottom post on the homepage. It doesn’t show the entire message unless you actually click on it and it takes you to the actual post page.

    I understand this may be valuable for a long article or something, but I want to show this entire post but am not sure how!

  • Some themes have a configuration for this .
    Other themes doesn’t , so the template file must be edited , read this and this .

    Thank you. That second link sounded promising but I do not have “the_excerpt” in my .css file. (or when I try and edit the template via WP in case that makes a difference)

    “the_excerpt()” is a template tag , you will find it in the loop .
    The “twentyten” theme has a separate file for the loop (loop.php).
    The “twentyeleven” theme has the loop in the content.php file .

    Thank you so much. After searching however, I cannot find where to get to this loop. I can see where to get into the editor for my specific template…is that what I want?

    FWIW, I already checked there. I’m using the template “THAT music template.”

    I’m getting close! Just gotta find where to access this loop thing.

    Ok thanks. I found one instance, changed it, saved it, and reuploaded the index file (backing up the older one) but nothing changed.

    I’m still seeing that first (bottom) welcome post get cut off.

    Try looking in your theme’s index.php template file.

    Where is that? I only see a index.php and a index_flat.php file in the themes folder (via ftp).

    Try looking in your theme’s folder within wp-content /themes using FTP or via Appearance -> Editor.

    That’s where I was referring to (via ftp) from above.

    Then try looking in that index.php file.

    Right I did that a while back. That’s when I said I made the changes, uploaded it, and nothing changed on my actual website.

    Still can’t get this and it’s one of the last things I’m trying to figure out lol

    Just wanna allow that bottom post on the homepage to reveal it’s entire self! (and other, future posts obviously)

    Your theme ” that-theme-music” has a file index.php .
    Open the file ( Dashboard->Appearance->editor->index.php) and locate:

    <?php the_excerpt(‘Read More..‘); ?>

    Replace the whole line with :

    <?php the_content(‘Read more…’); ?>

    Store the file with ” Update file” and let us know the result …..

    Thank you.

    Is it that the first one is short a “.” ?

    I added that third period and the only difference is that now there are three periods instead of two where the post stops on the homepage.
