Simple Facebook Connect: Hide or Disable Comments with Like Button

so, I’m having a problem with the like button on my posts. It doesn’t seem to work properly even though I’ve unchecked any comment related sub-plugins.

when you like a post, it opens up a comment tab that is hidden by the content box. I’ve tried to use z-index in the css. nothing works.

I would either like to make it pop out in a new window or at least go over the content box. If this can’t be done easily, then I’d like to just disable or hid the comment box entirely.

Anyone have advice?
