Simple Download Monitor URL convert automatically

    Hi, I am using Simple Download Monitor for my WordPress website.

    I am facing an issue with download links. Till the time I put regular links in the Downloadable File area, it works fine. But as I put an encrypted link, it removes a few characters from URL by its own which resulted in an error.

    After clicking publish, the character it automatically removes is %2F, %2B, %3D.
    Just, for example, I am pasting one of the links below. (I am just removing the domain and put XXX on it, rest it is same).

    Can anyone please help me out why it keeps on removing words starts with %.

    You can’t put encrypted links in there. That field uses the WordPress’s URL validation filter (for security) and that function will strip unwanted characters.

    If you want to hide the download links of your item, then you can use our following addon for this plugin:
    https://simple-download-monitor.com/hidden-downloads-for-simple-download-monitor/

    That way you still use a normal/valid link in the download item configuration, then the addon will hide it and provide a secure download option for your visitors.
