I need a way to verify the user is actively spending one full hour on a lesson.

I intended to use the forced lesson timer to begin counting down from one hour and when finished, enable the lesson to be marked as complete. I configured the “Simple Course Timer” to detect user inactivity and pause the forced lesson timer until the user resumes the course.

My issue is that the Simple Course Timer detects inactivity, but it does NOT stop the forced lesson timer. A user can be inactive for an hour, then the “Mark Complete” button will still become active.

Is each timer independent to each other or is it at all possible for the inactivity detection to affect the forced lesson timer? Workarounds would be appreciated, thanks

Please note that this support forum is generally for the free Toolkit plugin and its modules, and for the Pro version we can provide better support on our website.

The Simple Course Timer does not integrate in any way with the LearnDash native lesson timer. Theirs is a simple javascript countdown function. The time tracking that our timer users does in fact pause course time tracking when inactivity is detected, but that’s in no way related to the LearnDash timer and it cannot control it.

The Simple Course Timer cannot, unfortunately, be used to track minimum active time inside a lesson. It can do it at the course level but not the lesson level. Sorry about that.
