Tried following the steps in the
‘Buy a NZ Gala Apple, get the next One Free” example in the documentation.

Just cant get it to work. Seems a little out of date.
Example doesnt match the plugin fields exactly anymore.

LOST. Found a support case that did something similar. Developers steps also did not work.

Just need a simple, buy one thing, get the same one free deal.
On the latest version of WP and the plugin.

    Still doesnt work.

The only difference is im also assigning a coupon code.
According to other instructions on your site, I first created a woocommerce coupon (effectively a null coupon with a 0% off).

Does this coupon need anything special?

After applying to coupon in the cart, the numbers dont change.
I have 2 of the same item in the cart.
Nothing gets discounted after the coupon is successfully accepted.

Does the coupon need to be 100% off or something?

Aha, the addition of a coupon to the mix – hadn’t been mentioned before.

Unfortunately, Coupon-based rule activation is a Pro-only function.

    Thank you.. that explains everything.

On the rules page, I looked over what the PRO version adds in functionality, and this was not listed. Might be a good idea to add that. Wasted half my day trying to get something to work that was not possible.

    Appreciate you clearing this up.

    UPDATE

Client purchased the pro version. I installed it and successfully activated it with the license key.

Is there anything else I need to do?
    Still doesnt work as expected.

    What can I try next?

    Hi,
    Thanks for the purchase.

As per forum rules, PRO support needs to happen elsewhere.
