I was looking for a signature block option to add into the participants database form and happed to stumble across your add-on. Unfortunately I am limited currently to PD Version 1.7.8.11. Will the Signature Field option work with this version and are there any other system requirements that I should validate prior?

Why can’t you update to the latest version of Participants Database?

The signature field definitely won’t work for that version of Participants Database. None of our add-ons will, there’s too many interdependencies.

I had some PHP dependencies that were hindering an upgrade (many odd factors). I’ve finally resolved that now and have upgraded to the latest version. I also purchased the signature add-on and was able to implement it quite easily based on your instructions.

There are two minor issues I’ve experienced. One is that even when I set the signature to “required” as part of my registration form process, it does not treat it as such and will process the registration without a signature. I may be overlooking something simple. (All other fields marked as required work as expected.)

The second issue is related to printing my registration form with the signature. I’ve had difficulty finding a decent pdf/print plugin that will capture the signature without doing essentially a screen capture of the whole webpage and all the extras. I can get several plugins to make nice PDFs but for some reason, it doesn’t capture the signature. While I don’t see this as an issue with your plugin/add-on if you have suggestions I’d happily take them.

OK, glad to hear it, I worry about problems with the plugin that prevent people from updating.

On the Signature field, thanks for bringing the validation issue to my attention, I somehow missed that…but I will be issuing an update later today that fixes this issue.

As to the PDF, yes, that’s on the other plugin, but if you want to ask them about it, tell them the image is a “data:image/svg+xml;utf8” image that is rendered by the browser. Most browsers support the format, and if you do a “print” while displaying the record, you’ll see the signature in the preview.

Thanks for the info and support. Much appreciated. I have a few more feature questions but I’ll start them in a new thread
