sign up verification email

I’d like to see a sign up system in which we could limit what domains people can sign up from. Say if its organization specific and we have @myorganization.com e-mails, only those people could sign up.
Also if a random password, or even verification code is sent to that e-mail to ensure they are the owner of that e-mail account and tie them to a specific real world ID.
