When a guest user who is not signed in attempts to place a bid on an auction item, the page refreshes without taking any action. The page does not display an error message or alert and the bid is not placed.

Is there a way to send users to a page to create an account and/or login?

For instance, when you try to add the item to your watchlist, the page provides an error message saying “Please sign in to add auction to watchlist.” and it provides a link to a Login page where the user can also register for a new account. This appears to be the only way to register for an account through the auction page.

To reproduce this issue, do the following:
    1.) Visit https://tammygilchrest.com/?product=1954.
2.) Ensure you are not logged in and click ‘PLACE BID’.
3.) The page reloads itself without taking an action or providing user feedback

    Thanks

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    What was the resolution?

I am having the same issue with the page reloading and not accepting a bid

We successfully auctioned an item in December, but there have been updates since then?

Currently running WooCommerce 3.5.4 , Ultimate WooCommerce Auction Plugin 2.0.1, WordPress 5.0.3

Hello! I have just installed this plugin and we have the same issue. Signed in users are able to bid. Anon users are unable to bid

@tgilchrest Do you mean you emailed me? Or in general?
@nitesh_singh I would love this to be resolved so I can launch it on the site

@adrenalinegirl No, I sent an email to @nitesh_singh as asked of me to do in my original request for support on my issue.

I am having the same problem with the page reloading and not accepting a bid. Important to resolve. I see the login / register popup when adding to watchlist, but not on submitting a bid.

    Test site uses: Twenty Seventeen
    Other site uses: Genesis Theme

I will send access to Nitesh via email.

I also have this issue with a new installation and have emailed Nitesh. It would be nice if the solution was posted here.

Update: Nitesh responded to my email requesting FTP and admin access to the site to fix. In spite of not being a good practice, I gave it to him, and now have not heard anything since (10 days). Very frustrating….
Can someone else please post what fixed it for them?

    Thanks.

Hey everyone, just an update on my side. I still have this problem with my site. We updated to another theme and tried to reconfigure auctions but it still is not working for our needs.

Expected behavior: Logged in user places bid successfully. Anonymous user is required to login or create an account before placing bid.

Current behavior: Logged in user places bid successfully. Anonymous user places bid with no feedback or result. The bid is lost and the user is not informed of the status / error.

Can we just replace the ‘bid’ button with a ‘login to bid’ button that sends them to the login/create account page?

As a final follow up on my specific issue, we finally resolved the problem. It was related to a plug-in that affected the AJAX add to cart button. For us it was the WooCommerce Side Cart plug-in.

This was determined by switching to default theme and disabling plug-ins and testing the site 1 plug-in at a time.

Best of luck to those who still have the issue.

Thank you! When I went to follow your advice, I noticed that there were several WooCommerce related plugins that had available updates, including Ultimate WooCommerce Auction Plugin, which seems to have taken care of the problem as well.
