    1. Sidenotes plugin

    2. add a .pullquotes class to your style.css file – I routinely add pullquotes-left and pullquotes-right to customisations for clients just in case they want to use them – then they can just enclose the text in a
    <div class="pullquote-right">yada yada yada</div>
    wherever they like.

Thanks very much for your reply. I hadn’t thought about the pullquote idea, though I’m not sure that’d work quite so well with footnotes. The Sidenotes plugin seems to be for links, and it places them at the bottom as well. Anyone else have any ideas?

Pullquotes traditionally are in larger font in order to stand out, but if what you want is sidequotes all you have to do is add a class .sidenote and style it to look however you want.

Hi, I figured out how to make the pull quotes act like footnotes (ie have non-quoted text and a smaller font). The only other problem is that the content text wraps around them instead of there being a hard margin between text and pullquotes/sidenotes as in the example I linked. Do you know how I could do that? Sorry for so many questions: just learning all of this! Thanks!

I’ll need a link to a page where you have your code operating.
