I have been in the process of building a site and have successfully added sidebars using the Simple Sidebars plugin up until today. Now, I can no longer get the sidebar I assign to appear on any new pages I create. The sidebars that were previously added are still there. As a workaround I installed the Duplicate Post plugin and cloned my pages with working sidebars, then modify the names and content. This worked but I’d rather get this figured out.

The only thing that changed since my last successful sidebar assignment was the WordPress 3.8.1 upgrade – unless I’m completely forgetting something, which is always a possibility.

    Versions:
    Wordpress 3.8.1
    Theme: Executive Pro 3.0.0
    Genesis 2.0.2
    Simple Sidebars 2.0.1

    Address (sub-page with sidebars):

Well, this is embarrassing. The problem was my layout settings. By default I am set to full-width-content, so I needed to change the layout to sidebar-content within the page settings. Somehow that step was erased from my memory over the last few weeks.

    Cheers!
