I upgraded to 3.2 this week and began running the new Twenty Eleven 1.1 theme on my blog. The problem is I can’t get any widgets to display in the main or showcase sidebars. If I move the same Widget to the footer areas they display fine. Similarly if I change to the Twenty Ten theme or another them my sidebar widget appear correctly.

    I’ve already tried/checked the following:

    – Checking my theme options are set to a two colunm option
    – Using just a default plugin e.g meta
    – De-activating all plugins
    – Deleting and re-installing the theme
    – Checked my host has the correct PHP and MySql requirements

Any got any additional suggestion for things I can try?

  • Hi Niraj,
Thanks for your help, its working fin now.
But do you know how can I change the color of the navigation bar from default balck to green.

    Thanks again !

I’m trying to place logo inplace of blog name, for which i need to edit header.php. But in child theme (Niraj pasted link above) when I go to editer, I just see page.php, single.php, functions.php and style.css but no header.php. How should I add header.php to edit it ?

So, the basic question is, how can I edit other php files if I want.

I’m sorry if it is a stupid question but I’m totally a non techie person.
    Thanks guys.

Thank you, even though I haven’t received any replies.

I figured it out on my own. Now I know it is very basic thing but still for a person who don’t know anything about all this stuff, it is a big thing.

    Thanks for the info!

My first www.remarpro.com free theme is Twenty Eleven. I have it offline in THEME TEST DRIVE since there is currently an html coded site design that is “active” or “published”. In THEME OPTIONS, it is apparent that the free Theme does not reflect all the options necessary to complete a design (unless I just want a new header and a font!).

I’m non-tech and can’t write code, so I need to see ALL the options to “click” or “upload” to create a new design. Is it possible the current coded “active” site is interfering with my theme options? If so, will I need to take my theme live to work on it? Any ideas?

By the way, this will not be a blog… it needs to have 3-4 pages with preferably no sliders. Need help soon… thank you!

Thanks for fixing your own problem and mine ??

Niraj solution is great thanks a lot!
