Sidebar Widgets

  • Hi, just wondering, is is possible to have a sidebar widget that is only visible to specific member groups? For example, I would like to have a guest widget with registration information when your not logged in, so guests can find how to register, but when the log in I want it to go away.

  • well, the meta widget is context sensitive if I recall. It only says register if you are not signed in.

    this code in your theme would do the same <?php wp_register('', ''); ?>

    says register if you are not signed in, and something like site admin if you are…. are you looking for a bit more functionality?

    Yes I am actually, I did play with the meta widget, but I don’t really like that option, but maybe I could look at how its created and make my own widget?
