  • Hi Eoin,

Does that page have a sidebar in the template? If so, you should be able to add the calendar widget under Appearance > Widgets.

    Hi Caimin,

We pretty much newbies here when it comes to Events Manager but the Single Event Page appears to be generated dynamically i.e. there’s no page that we can to add a sidebar nor can we find anything in the Events Manager settings that would allow us to specify a page for Single Events.

    Thanks

    Eoin

can I know if your theme supports custom post type? you can also create single-event.php in your theme directory and set your single events page to post under events > settings > pages > event pages > display events as =post

    Hi Angelo,

We use the Avada theme on that website which supports a post type of event according to their documentation.

    Thanks

    Eoin

I am not part of support.. just some dude..

I noticed that on your “homepage” you have a calendar.
I am guessing that you want something like that on your single events “post”.
Because it appears you have the calendar in the “primary” sidebar on your “pages”.

What I believe you are asking is to have a calendar in the content area..
It would be called the Content Sidebar…
    a little explanation of sidebars…
    https://www.wpbeginner.com/glossary/sidebar/

    So let’s try this…
    Get into your Admin…
Click Widgets (usually it is under Appearance -> Widgets).

Find the Events Calendar widget and Click..
it will expand and click Content Sidebar

It should be added to the
    Content Sidebar box…
thusly you will see Events Calendar widget there..
and you will have some more options you can click and “experiment” with.

maybe you have already done all this and it is not appearing..
Which you can inform us if that is the situation.

Maybe there is a setting in Avada theme to allow Sidebars in the content area…
that you would have to set.

For Events Manager plugin…… just to confirm..
it should be the default setting… but..
    Confirm that…
    in your Admin area…
    Click Events -> Settings
    Click Pages
then the second option would be…
click Events Pages it will expand…
the first option… Display events as it should say Posts
    as the default settings.

    Hi Rob,

    Thanks for your input.

We’ve done all the first part of your answer but the calendar still doesn’t appear on the single event pages.

The second option says Pages not Posts so we’ll try changing this and see what happens.

    Thanks

    Eoin

While we are trying to do this and that with your theme…

We can put directly a calender in the Single Events.

So we are going into Events Manger settings..
    Admin -> Events -> Settings…
    click the tab Formatting
    click Events
    it will expand…
scroll down to … Single Event Page

This is where you can adjust about anything.. you want with the plugin as how a Single Event will be with content and appearance.

DISCLAIMER: MAKE A BACKUP OF WHAT YOU SEE in this “box” area..
just so you have the original….
Save it on your computer as text file…

Your webmaster or you… will then drop in a shortcode for the calander..
in the “box” area we are discussing…

You would have to do some editing to make it look pretty.. and where you want it…
