Sidebar Template in WP 1.5

I haven’t seen this, but I’m using version 1.5 with a variation on the Kubrick theme, which has the sidebar template.

I have some scripts there that don’t validate, and so I changed the “&” sign to the proper html coding of “&-amp;” and then it validates.

However, any time I edit the sidebar.php file at all, it removes the coding and changes it back to just the “&” and then doesn’t validate again.

I have changed this every time I edit the sidebar. Anyone know why it keeps changing back or how I can stop it from changing back?
