  • It seems that there is a problem with theme. It gives an error at the bottom:

Parse error: parse error in /www/cgi/wp/wp-content/themes/inove/sidebar.php on line 175

That’s why the sidebar is not loading. Make sure you have uploaded all required files.

    Kailash

That looks like a syntax error– maybe a missing ‘;’ at the end of a line.

thanks to anyone who can help

What version of WordPress are you using?

um.. i’m not sure, it was downloaded for me from my host (mysite.com) , and that was like 2 days ago so i assumed it was the newest version
how do i figure that out

Look in the footer (right bottom) when logged into the Admin section. It just occurred to me that errors like those in your sidebar could be generated if you were trying to use a WP 2.7 (or above) theme on a pre 2.7 install.

ut oh i tried to follow the instructions for upgrading wordpress and after deleting the wp-admin and wp-includes files and uploading the new ones this comes up on my website and i cant acces wordpress through mysite.com

Fatal error: Failed opening required ‘../wp-load.php’ (include_path=’.:/usr/share/pear’) in /www/cgi/wp/wp-admin/admin.php on line 20

You need to upgrade incrementally. Going from 2.0.4 to 2.8.4 is much too big of a jump. You can probably get away something like 2.1->2.2->2.3 and so on, skipping the smaller revisions within the release.

Yes, you will need to upgrade your blog incrementally as suggested by apljdi. This error is occurred if you upgrade your wordpress from very old version to latest version.
