Sidebar only on homepage

Hi, I have seen a number of posts regarding this topic but none have worked for me. I really would like to show a sidebar on the home page but either no side bar on other pages or a different sidebar config. I have tried sidebar manager lite but that seems to just remove the content of the sidebar leaving an empty space without spreading the width of the main page. I cant seem to use the full width even when selecting full width within the page settings.
