Sidebar not showing up in IE, Works fine in other browsers.

If you move the sidebar info within the html above the main blog bit, then it works in IE7 & FF3 – that is everything from <div id=”Sidebar”> to </div><!– end #Sidebar –> is moved to above <div id=”center”>.

However you need to check your HTML with the validator (you can also check CSS here)

Would I do this in the main index?

I can not find this anywhere. Please help.

You have code errors that may be messing up proper display.

How do I find out what the code errors are? I’m a bit of a novice and I’m not sure where to look. I’ve played around with the main index and page template files and I got my sidebar to reappear, but only to most recent post and the title of one post prior to it are visible in IE. Click on the link that says “code errors” in my above post. The errors have line numbers listed, and if you click them, you will be shown the line of code with the error. XHTML tags need to be closed:

<li> needs to be closed with </li>

Here are no code errors in my theme and it worked fine till today. The articles are shown fine in Firefox and other browsers, but not in Internet Explorer. The sidebar is missing. I checked all the pictures, and they have the right size. The same with the videos. Can you help me find the problem? Thank you very much.

The disappearing sidebar problem appears to be widespread, judging by the hundreds of posts on this topic. According to the author of the Vigilance Theme that I use, the problem is caused by invalid code, which can be checked with the W3Validator. Validator said there was a missing end tag. I could not find any missing end tag. The code was generated by WordPress. My sidebar disappears (is actually displaced downward) in IE, but works fine in Firefox. Does anyone have a quick and easy fix for this? Preferably without re-writing WordPress-generated code. Or if there is no way other than to re-write code, then some copy-and-paste code along with specific instructions about what page to put it in, where to find that page, the proper location in the page, etc. Many thanks for any clues.
