I’m using a sidebar with Singular & Archive / Merge / Sidebar / Top / 0 options, which is applied to multiple pages.

It works fine on all pages except the home page (static front page). When I change the front page in Reading Settings, the sidebar works on the old “home” page but not on the new front page. So the problem is definitely connected to the front page setting.

As suggested in another post, I tried moving the home page to a different group but it still isn’t working.

You want to display the sidebar on your static front page, and not the home/blog page?

For your sidebar, did you select Static pages: Front page, or did you select an individual page?

I was selecting the individual page by name. Once I added the static page to a new group, it worked. Thanks.

    That sounds great!

The pages you select for front page/home page in the Reading Settings will actually be removed from the available pages when editing the sidebar. However, if you have added one of those pages to a sidebar condition group before making that change, I can see how it can lead to confusion.

To show a sidebar on the front page, you should always use: “Static Pages: Front Page”.
To show a sidebar on the home/blog page, should always use: “All Posts” and then select “Exposure: Archives”.
