I see the option to have a custom sidebar appear under certain posts/categories instead of a default/theme sidebar.

Under a custom sidebar’s “sidebar location”, I have checked “as blog sidebar for certain categories” and then selected some categories. However, the blog sidebar still appears on those categories (not speaking of actual, individual posts, but the page which lists all posts under that category).

I have checked “allow sidebar to be replaced” for my blog sidebar, so I am not sure why this is not working…

What is weird is it works if I choose “as blog sidebar for selected post types” & choose “posts”. It then switches the sidebar for ALL my posts. Of course, that is not what I want….

Any suggestions? What could I be missing?

Okay, I figured out that under “sidebar location” it has to be set under “for archives” and then “category archives” and “as a blog sidebar for selected category archives”. I didn’t realize these were considered archives.

    For me is not running.

In my case, i need to configure specific content for each category page footer ( I mean, the page who shows all the post list of one category) .

If i do what you say , the special footer only is shown in the footer of the post which are included in this category, but not , in main category page which all the posts are listed.

Who should i do? is it possible?

    Thanks.
