Sidebar like blogsmith

Afternoon friends,

I am trying to make the sidebar over at https://www.atomicpopcorn.net look like the side bar of a blogsmith blog over at https://www.ps3fanboy.com

I would like to be able to have a Adsense box at the top of the side bar and then split the portion below it in two so I can put a sky scraper ad in one side and the contents in the other.

Any help would be great – I had it by doing absolute positioning but I forgot that doesn’t work due to different resolutions ??

Any help would be great. I did contact the owner of the theme.

Consider me a computer geek who knows wordpress well but to much of the coding side.
